If there were only one woman at the corporate level of an organization, her status as an "only" could significantly affect her interactions with her male co-workers. There are many assumptions, such as: "how did you get this job?", "who did you sleep with?", "why would you want to be here when there is no one else like you?". This woman will be in a constant state of trying to prove herself; trying to prove that she is smart enough, capable, and deserving of her position.
